Quick answer: The IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Result for the 2025-26 cycle was declared on 23 January 2026 at ibps.in, with the scorecard and cut off following on 29 January 2026. For the 2026-27 cycle, the Prelims is reported for 6, 12 and 13 December 2026, so its result date is to be announced.
Two kinds of readers land on this page. One took the exam in December 2025 and wants the result, the scorecard and the cut off. The other is applying now and wants to know when the next IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Result will arrive. Many pages mix the two, so this guide keeps them apart and labels every date as official, reported, expected or to be announced. It covers the result link, the scorecard steps, why there is no single qualifying mark, and what to do in the days after you see your status.
IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Result 2026: where things stand
IBPS runs this recruitment as a numbered cycle. The result declared in January 2026 belongs to CRP RRBs-XIV. Pages call it “2025”, “2026” or “2025-26”, and they all mean that same result. The next cycle is CRP RRBs-XV.
| Event | 2025-26 cycle (CRP RRBs-XIV) | 2026-27 cycle (CRP RRBs-XV) |
|---|---|---|
| Prelims exam | 6, 7, 13 and 14 December 2025 (held) | 6, 12 and 13 December 2026 (reported from the IBPS calendar; confirm on ibps.in) |
| Prelims result | 23 January 2026 (official, declared) | To be announced; expected late January 2027 |
| Scorecard and cut off | 29 January 2026 (released) | To be announced |
| Mains exam | 1 February 2026 (held) | 30 January 2027 (reported) |
| Mains result | 15 March 2026 (declared) | To be announced |
Applications for the 2026-27 cycle run from 1 to 21 September 2026 (official). If you haven’t applied, the last date is 21 September 2026, and any extension is to be announced.
Three facts this guide relies on
- IBPS announced the Office Assistant Prelims result on 23 January 2026 (Careers360).
- The scorecard, with the cut off scores, was released on 29 January 2026 (Guidely).
- The Prelims has 80 questions, 80 marks and 45 minutes (Shiksha).
When will IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Result 2026 be released?
For the cycle already finished, the answer is 23 January 2026. For the next one, IBPS has not announced a date, so here is how I’d estimate it.
Last cycle, the final Prelims shift was on 14 December 2025 and the result came on 23 January 2026. That is 40 days. The scorecard followed six days after that. The 2026-27 Prelims is reported to end on 13 December 2026. Add 40 days and you land around 22 January 2027. Treat that as an expected window, late January 2027, and not an IBPS date. It rests on one earlier cycle, and a different number of shifts or applicants could move it.
The gap that matters more comes after the result. Last time, the Mains was held nine days after the result, on 1 February 2026. If that repeats, you will have about a week between seeing your status and sitting the Mains. Start your Mains preparation before the result arrives.

Where can I download IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Result?
ibps.in is the only official source for the IBPS RRB Clerk result link. Forwarded links and look-alike sites are the real risk here, and at least one page ranking for this search has named the wrong website. Type ibps.in into your browser instead of tapping a link someone sent you.
How to download IBPS RRB Clerk scorecard?
The scorecard is separate from the result. In the last cycle IBPS released it on 29 January 2026, six days after the result. It shows your overall marks and your section marks, and the cut off scores are attached to it. Download it even if you qualified. The section marks show where your score came from, which helps when you plan for the Mains.
IBPS RRB Clerk result 2026: every stage in one place
The RRB Clerk post is officially called Office Assistant (Multipurpose), so a search for the IBPS RRB Office Assistant Result leads to the same pages. The selection has two exams and no interview. The Prelims qualifies you, the Mains decides final merit, and provisional allotment follows.
| Stage | Date, 2025-26 cycle |
|---|---|
| Prelims result | 23 January 2026 |
| Scorecard and cut off | 29 January 2026 |
| Mains exam | 1 February 2026 |
| Mains result and scorecard | 15 March 2026 |
| Reserve list result | 30 June 2026 (reported by Testbook) |
What are the qualifying marks for IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims?
There is no single pass mark. IBPS sets a cut off for each state and each category and publishes it with the scorecard. The Prelims only decides who reaches the Mains, and its marks are not added to your final merit.
| Feature | Prelims |
|---|---|
| Questions | 80 |
| Marks | 80 (1 per question) |
| Duration | 45 minutes |
| Subjects | Reasoning (40) and Numerical Ability (40) |
| Negative marking | 0.25 per wrong answer |
Sources differ on whether the Prelims has sectional time limits and sectional cut offs, so read the notification for your cycle before you assume either.
The cut off swings by state. Reports put the highest General-category cut off for 2025-26 at 77.50 (Punjab), out of 80, and the sources disagree on the lowest. I’d ignore any “national” cut off and pull your own state’s figure from the IBPS cut off PDF.
The negative marking is worth doing the maths on. A right answer gives 1 mark and a wrong one costs 0.25, so a guess breaks even when you are 20% sure and pays only above that. A candidate with 62 correct and 12 wrong scores 62 minus 3, which is 59.
Expected cut off for the 2026-27 Prelims
Official: none yet. Expected: it will differ by state again, and your score only means something against your own state and category. One prep site estimates 65 to 75 for the General category (Practicemock). Treat that as a rough guide and not an IBPS figure, and plan with last cycle’s official state table.
What to do after you see your result
If you qualified, the Mains is next. For the 2026-27 cycle it is reported for 30 January 2027. It carries 200 marks in 120 minutes, covering reasoning, quantitative aptitude, English or Hindi, general awareness and computer knowledge, with the same 0.25 negative marking. Final merit comes from the Mains alone.
If you did not qualify, the scorecard is still useful, because it splits your marks by section and shows which one pulled you under.
Either way, a ten-minute score check tells you where you stand:
- Find your state and category cut off in the IBPS PDF.
- Work out your score: correct answers minus 0.25 for each wrong one.
- Subtract the cut off from your score. If you are less than about 3 marks over, treat it as a close call and keep preparing. That is my rule of thumb, not an IBPS rule.
- Write down your weakest section and start there.

The IBPS RRB Clerk Prelims Result is one status page and one scorecard, and the number that matters is the cut off for your own state and category. Bookmark ibps.in, run the score check above, and don’t wait for the next result to start on the Mains. For the 2026-27 cycle, watch the IBPS notice board after 13 December 2026.

Do Prelims marks count in the final selection?
No. The Prelims is qualifying only. Final selection rests on the Mains, which is 200 marks in 120 minutes, and there is no interview for this post. So once you clear the IBPS RRB Office Assistant Prelims Result, treat your Prelims score as spent and put your time into the Mains.
